5 Ways to Stay Motivated

Hey Beautiful!

Yes, it is Monday again and most of us dread the start of a new week. There seems to be so many challenges, so many things to do and not enough time or energy to get them all done. I completely understand and like you, I sometimes want to skip Monday and go straight to Friday.

So how do we go about embracing Monday and keeping ourselves motivated throughout the week?

Here are my top 5 ways to stay motivated (during the week) like a Girl Boss!

1. Start with a Positive Message/Affirmation

Ways to keep yourself motivated through Christ

You know how they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day for your body. The same goes for your mind. What you choose to feed your mind at the start of the day will set the pace for how your day turns out. To give yourself a jump start each morning, find a motivational blog, podcast, YouTube channel, app or daily devotional that keeps you inspired. I personally LOVE My Creative Bible  where I am able to bring my scriptures to life through pictures I can color. It relaxes me and gives me a positive message to carry with me throughout my day. My scripture this week is Proverbs 31:25 which reminds me that I am clothed in Dignity and Strength and unstoppable through Christ.

2. Create a List of Your Top 3

Often times we create to do list that are a mile long and humanly impossible to achieve in a week. Start with your TOP 3 To Do's for the week and write them down. These are your goals for things you need to accomplish to set yourself up for a great week. I focus on my business goals for the week. The things I need to have done in order to set myself up for the following week. It feels really good to have a few things I can focus on achieving vs a list that I already know I won't be able to complete by weeks end.

3. Surround yourself with positive people

We can't always choose who we work with and we can't choose our family. However, we can choose the people we choose to surround ourselves with outside of family and work. Our friends. When choosing, choose wisely so you surround yourself with people who support you, listen to you and motivate you. A mid week Happy Hour or morning coffee meet up can do wonders for your week.

4. Give Yourself a Break

It is ok to go and kick your feel up and relax on your break. Don't feel the pressure to go to lunch with co workers. If you need a solitary break, take one. Read a magazine, listen to music, go for a peaceful walk or whatever you do to relax. The body and mind both need breaks throughout the day to maintain balance.

5. Reward Yourself

When you finish your week, and the top 3 on your goals/to do list, then it is time to reward yourself. Ok, it doesn't have to be ice cream, that's just my choice, lol! But don't forget to reward yourself at the end of the week. It is something special you do for yourself to reap the benefits of staying motivated throughout the week. It could be a relaxing bath or a special treat, whatever it is, reward YOU!
